Corporate & Commercial Partner Jeremy Leibler has been appointed to the Australian Government’s Takeovers Panel for a three-year term commencing 30 April 2018.
Jeremy’s appointment was announced by the Minister for Revenue and Financial Services, the Hon Kelly O’Dwyer MP last week.
The Takeovers Panel is the primary forum for resolving disputes about a takeover bid. It is a peer review body, with 43 part time members appointed from the active members of Australia's takeovers and business communities. The Panel seeks to decide disputes in a timely manner by focusing primarily on commercial and policy issues.
Jeremy Leibler is a Partner in ABL’s Corporate and M&A practice in Melbourne with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, takeovers and takeover defences, public and private capital raisings and shareholder activism and board disputes. He is also a non-executive director of Thorney Technologies Limited.
