Lawyer Spotlight: Meet Ryan Taylor

Corporate and M&A
Ryan Taylor portrait LORES

Meet Ryan, a lawyer in our Melbourne team. Ryan has been part of the Arnold Bloch Leibler team for four years. He practices in our Corporate and M&A team and today we asked him a few questions to get to know him a little better.

What specific areas of law do you specialise in?

My practice focuses on advising a broad range of clients, including private equity and entrepreneurial founders on M&A transactions, capital raisings and corporate governance.

Can you describe a transaction that stands out as particularly interesting or challenging? And what would you say made it unique?

A standout transaction I’ve worked on is advising US-based National Veterinary Associates on the sale of VetPartners, Australia and New Zealand’s largest provider of veterinary and animal health services, to the EQT Group, a Scandinavian private equity firm.

It was a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a significant cross-border transaction and advising on all aspects of the deal, including regulatory approvals, multi-jurisdictional tax matters, employee incentives and transaction implementation.

What attracted you to work at Arnold Bloch Leibler and can you describe how your experience has fostered your growth as a lawyer?

I chose to work at Arnold Bloch Leibler because junior lawyers are given the opportunity to work closely with senior lawyers and partners. You’re encouraged to be an active participant in the transaction team from day one. The firm places immense value on its ability to deliver excellent results for its clients with its streamlined transaction teams. This model provides lawyers with numerous opportunities to practice autonomy, take ownership of certain workstreams, and develop their own practice and skills. For me, this certainly was – and continues to be – my experience at ABL.
